Major Components of CA IDM Architecture

CA Identity manager Server (Management and user console) The server on which IDM tool is deployed. Used for assignment of privilege through provisioning roles, admin roles and access roles. Also used for several self-service tasks like forgot password, forgot user names and various custom application can be integrated in CA identity.

Provisioning server
Provisioning Server consists of User console, Connector Express and Password Sync Agents. It helps to Manage accounts of the users in Identity Manager

CA IDM User Store or Database
CA Identity Managers User Store and provisioning directory is used for for global user’s storage. We have 2 types of user stores in CA identity manager (CA IDM) architecture. CA IDM User store and provisioning directory. Different types of Databases in CA IDM are Object store database (required), Task persistence database (Required), Workflow databases (optional), Audit database (optional)

IDM connect with connectors
There are two out of the box (OOB) connectors 1. CA IAM Connector Server. 2. C++ Connector Servers (Legacy connector not much used)
